Intel Arc B380 budget Battlemage GPU spotted in Linux and Mesa driver updates

Intel develops a new budget graphics card within the Battlemage series to replace the Arc A380. Developers discovered PCI ID 0xE209 in recent Linux kernel driver patches, signaling preparation for consumer recognition of this upcoming hardware. The Mesa driver table also references this identifier alongside the BMG G21 designation, confirming its status as a mainstream product rather than the anticipated B770 model.

The prospective Arc B380 may feature sixteen Xe2 cores compared to eight Xe cores in its predecessor. This specification increase would position the card closer to Arc B570 performance levels while maintaining entry-level pricing. Industry observers suggest Intel could price this graphics solution below $150 to compete effectively in the neglected budget segment.

Mesa provides open-source rendering drivers that enable Vulkan and OpenGL application support for the new hardware. The Arc B380 potentially adopts specifications from the commercial Arc B50 PRO variant. This development addresses the underserved $100-$200 graphics card market that major manufacturers frequently overlook.
