Intel fixes Arc B580 CPU overhead with driver updates

Intel resolved central processing unit overhead issues affecting Arc B580 graphics cards through driver updates released on Thursday. The budget GPU struggled when paired with processors from AMD's Zen 3 architecture, but Hardware Unboxed demonstrated substantial performance improvements after Intel deployed version 7028 in August. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered showed over 30 percent performance gains compared to earlier driver versions when tested with a Ryzen 5 5600 processor.

The Arc B580 achieved competitive performance against the RX 9060 XT in titles such as Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, and Dying Light: The Beast. Testing revealed the GPU no longer suffers significant bottlenecks with Ryzen 5600 processors across multiple games. The $249 graphics card remains the only 12-gigabyte option at this price point for budget-conscious gamers seeking modern gaming performance.
