News organizations cannot film or show pictures of where missiles hit. They also cannot use drones or wide cameras at strike locations. Reporters must avoid giving exact addresses of damaged areas near military bases. Broadcasting video of missile defense systems firing back is also banned.

The military wants to stop social media videos from spreading without review first. Some of these clips might be fake news made by enemy forces. Iranian and international news groups have been showing live coverage of Israeli attacks inside Iran. The missile strike on Haifa Port was broadcast in real time.

Israel's military fears that similar live reporting could expose weak spots in their defenses. Iran recently hit the Weizmann Institute of Science with missiles. This research center works on advanced military technology and nuclear research. Iran said the attack was payback for Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites.
