Jahangirnagar University students elect Adri Ankur as Chhatra Union president

Bangladesh Chhatra Union's Jahangirnagar University faction established a fresh executive committee with 25 members for a twelve-month period. The formation occurred after the organization's 33rd council meeting took place Wednesday afternoon at the university's Shaheed Minar location. Office secretary Md. Redowan Sikder issued a press release Thursday evening announcing the development.

Adri Ankur from the Anthropology Department secured the presidency while Faizan Ahmed Arko from Marketing became general secretary. The committee appointed Maisha Moni as organizing secretary and named Sabereen Nawshaad and Sadia Islam Moon as vice presidents. Assistant general secretary roles went to Simanta Bardhan and Zarin Tasnim Promi, with Isfar Saadi taking the treasurer position.

Additional appointments filled secretary positions across education, research, science, technology, publicity, publication, cultural affairs, social welfare, environment, and sports. Executive members occupy eight positions with two co-opted roles available. The committee held its inaugural public event Thursday evening at Selim Al Din Muktomancha, marking the July Mass Uprising's first anniversary on campus.
