NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently commented on the deal between AMD and OpenAI, expressing surprise over AMD's enthusiasm for its upcoming MI450 AI lineup.
AMD’s deal with OpenAI involves supplying over six gigawatts of chips, including the unreleased Instinct MI450. This announcement followed NVIDIA’s own collaboration with OpenAI, highlighting the increasing competition between the two companies.
Huang remarked that it was surprising for AMD to offer 10% of its company for a product that had not yet been released. He also stated that at the time of NVIDIA's deal with OpenAI, AMD's partnership was not yet known.
The growing competition between AMD and NVIDIA could drive innovation, particularly in next-generation AI solutions.
