Job hunt in St Petersburg gets super competitive

Job hunters face tough competition in St. Petersburg as more people search for work. The job search company HeadHunter North-West reports that resident activity in the labor market jumped 25 percent last month. Currently, more than six people apply for each open position across the city. This marks a significant increase from last year, when only 4.5 applicants competed for each job.

The arts industry sees the fiercest battle, with 28 candidates fighting for every available spot. Consulting positions attract 27 applicants per opening, and executive roles draw 26 hopefuls for each vacancy. Information technology positions have become more competitive as well, with 11 people applying for every job. Human resources positions show similar numbers.

Market experts consider these numbers normal despite the clear upward trend. Competition has steadily grown throughout the past year. St. Petersburg residents have become much more active in their job searches since early spring. The current situation reflects changing economic conditions affecting employment across various sectors.
