Joe Kigozi Returns to Next Media for Final Visit.
Joe Kigozi returned to Next Media Park today after saying goodbye to the company, where he had worked as a top leader for 14 years.
He started his day at Next Radio's Morning Switch show, where he talked about his time at the company and shared how he grew from a sports voice to a head manager.
After the radio talk, he walked through Next Media Park. He met with workers and thanked them. Many told him how much he helped them learn and grow.
"Joe taught us more than just work skills. He showed us how to be better," said one staff member.
Kigozi began at Next Media in 2008. He first talked about sports on show 442. He then moved up to run company talks, selling, and planning. He made Next Media bigger, taking it from one name to 17 different ones.
His work improved NBS TV. He led the move to new TV formats. He started good plans like NBS Owakabi, which grew into Sanyuka Naffe. He also introduced sports to TV in new ways. Under him, Sanyuka TV became the first local channel to show the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. He also ran the World Cup Cup Tour in Uganda in 2018.
Kigozi cared about helping young workers grow. He led key groups and taught new leaders who run parts of the company today.
He plans to keep working with Next Media but in a different way. He will contribute ideas and help with special tasks, which means his smart thinking will still improve the company.
His visit today showed how much people at Next Media care about him. What he did to make the company better will stay important for years to come.
