Joey Phuthi lands at Eastbourne Borough

Joey Phuthi moved to Eastbourne Borough after leaving Sheffield Wednesday last month. The 20-year-old winger from Zimbabwe signed with the National League South club. Eastbourne Borough plays football at the sixth level of English soccer. The speedy player brings pace and power to his new team on the south coast.

Phuthi came through Sheffield Wednesday's youth academy during his time there. He found the net five times for their Under 21 squad last season. His final goal helped beat Peterborough 3-0 back in March. The young athlete can play different positions across the attacking line. His speed makes him dangerous when running at defenders.

Coach Matt Gray feels happy about bringing Phuthi to the club. The manager thinks the Zimbabwe international wants to learn and improve his game. Gray believes the winger has real potential for future success. The coach likes mixing young talent with experienced players on his roster. He looks forward to working with another promising prospect at The ReachTV Stadium.
