Kavango's second gold find fuels Zimbabwe's mining boom

Kavango Resources achieved a breakthrough at Bill's Luck Gold Mine with their second major gold discovery. The UK exploration firm struck high-grade deposits at the Matabeleland South facility during ongoing drilling operations. This follows their June announcement of finding 11.79 grammes per tonne at the same location. Chief executive Ben Turney expressed satisfaction with results that surpassed company projections. The discovery confirms that valuable ore extends deeper underground with improving quality.

Zimbabwe targets 40 tonnes of gold production this year after reaching a record 36.4 tonnes previously. Mining contributes over 80 percent to the national economy while providing widespread employment. Kavango plans aggressive surface drilling to establish resources sufficient for three years of operations. The company will construct a 50-tonne daily test plant this year before scaling to 250 tonnes by 2026. Their Zimbabwean portfolio encompasses Hillside and Nara projects on the mineral-rich Filabusi greenstone belt.
