Kazembe says no to protests as arson heats up

Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe warns Zimbabweans not to join planned protests across the country. He says the government will use heavy force against what he calls acts of terrorism. His warning comes as the political situation worsens in Zimbabwe. Several properties linked to Zanu PF supporters have been burned recently.

Businesses owned by wealthy Zanu PF allies Kuda Tagwirei and Wicknell Chivayo were set on fire. These men allegedly help President Emmerson Mnangagwa steal the nation's resources. Someone also burned property belonging to Blessed "Bombshell" Runesu Geza in Sanyati. Geza, who was kicked out of the Zanu PF Central Committee, fights against Mnangagwa staying longer as president and demands he leave office because of poor leadership.

Kazembe announced that security forces stand ready to crush anyone causing trouble. He said Zimbabwe's government strongly condemns terrorism and violence from troublemakers supported by a small group living outside the country. These people threaten public safety by attacking people and property. Security services back law and order and plan to take strong action against them.

After yesterday's fires in Harare and Goromonzi, police worked with state agencies like the Central Vehicle Registry to solve these crimes. The government also condemned the fires in Sanyati today, and police investigated that case as well. Kazembe urges all Zimbabweans to reject arson and calls for lawless behavior.

He asks citizens to ignore calls for street protests. According to him, the people planning these protests are criminals themselves. He claims peace exists throughout Zimbabwe today and will continue. Security forces watch for anyone trying to disrupt that peace.

Kazembe warns Zimbabweans not to let criminals use them. He claims these people just want to steal from businesses during planned demonstrations. The minister says people should not believe old, recycled videos meant to support stories from those wanting to cause public disorder. He repeats his Thursday statement that the government must protect national security and territory by law.
