Kenya Blackouts Leave Six Counties in the Dark

Kenya Power says six counties will experience electricity cuts on Thursday. Areas in Nairobi, Kisii, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, and Embu will see planned power interruptions. Most outages run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Nairobi residents near Pangani will lose power. This affects Juja Road, several hospitals, and schools. Strawberry area, Muratina Road, and Fair View Road will also go dark on Thursday. The company listed Guru Nanak Hospital among places without electricity.

Kisii County experiences outages around Nyamache, Igare, and Kiobegi. The blackout also affects Nyamache Tea Factory, Emenwa Market, and many schools. Nyamagwa Girls and Boys schools must prepare for no electricity. Safaricom Booster users experience service problems during these hours.

Kirinyaga loses power in Kagio, Kiunga and Kandongu sections. Parts of Kagio Town and Kiamachri Polytechnic need backup plans. Embu County faces cuts around the Gatondo and Maramuri areas. Harvard and Embu High locations must manage without power all day.

Kiambu County has extensive outages across the Kamiti area. Markets at Ngorongo, Kairi, and Kanjuku all shut down their electrical systems. Multiple health centers need generators ready. Kilifi faces widespread cuts through the Kokotoni area and parts of Kanamai and Mtwapa. Many businesses and schools must adjust operations during these hours.
