Kenya just set up a whole bureau to handle big international conferences and events after getting picked to host a massive three-bloc African summit in 2026. The tripartite summit brings together 29 African countries with over 700 million people and a combined GDP past 1.4 trillion dollars. Officials think the move will pull in foreign investment, create jobs, and boost tourism revenue by making Kenya the go-to destination for high-value regional events.
A multi-agency organizing committee has already been launched to handle logistics and planning for next year's summit.
