Kenya Morans came fourth place at the Africa 7s tournament held in Mauritius. The team lost their bronze medal match against Zimbabwe with a final score of 19-21. Their tournament started well with strong wins during pool play. The squad beat Cote D'Ivoire 38-0 and Ghana 33-0 without allowing any points. They also defeated Uganda 12-5 to advance from their group.
The quarterfinal match against Nigeria went perfectly for the Morans. Jackson Siketi, Denis Abukuse, and William Mwanji all scored tries during the first half. George Ooro, Chrisant Ojwang, and Javan Otieno added more points after halftime. The final score reached 43-12 with Nigeria managing just two tries. Madagascar fought back hard and managed two converted tries in the second period. Kenya scored again late but could not catch up to their opponents. The 12-14 loss sent them into the bronze medal playoff.
