Kenya Morans shine but miss out on Africa Sevens medal

Kenya Morans finished fourth at the 2025 Africa Men's Sevens tournament after losing two close games. The team played well during parts of the competition but could not win a medal. They beat Nigeria easily before falling to stronger teams later. The Morans showed good rugby skills throughout their matches. Their campaign ended without reaching the podium.

The team crushed Nigeria 43-12 during their quarterfinal match. Jackson Siketi scored early and kicked the extra points to give Kenya a strong start. Denis Abukuse added another try as the Morans built a big lead. Nigeria managed one score but Kenya kept attacking through the second half. George Ooro, captain Chrisant Ojwang and Javan Otieno all crossed the line for more points.

Madagascar proved much harder to beat during the semifinal game. Ojwang gave Kenya an early five-point advantage with a try. The opponents fought back and scored twice to take a 14-5 lead. Kenya scored again late to make it 14-12 but ran out of time. Madagascar advanced to the final match.

Zimbabwe denied Kenya a bronze medal after a thrilling comeback victory. Ojwang and Abukuse both scored tries during the first half. Siketi converted one kick to give Kenya a 12-0 halftime lead. Abukuse scored again early after the break to stretch the advantage. Zimbabwe scored twice near the end to win 21-19.
