Kenya to Evacuate Nationals from Israel and Iran Amid Conflict

Kenya wants all its citizens living in Israel and Iran to come home right away because of the fighting between these countries. The State Department for Diaspora Affairs told people on Saturday to sign up for emergency trips back to Kenya. Officials worry about keeping Kenyans safe during the dangerous conflict that keeps getting worse each day. The government gave phone numbers and email addresses for people to contact their embassies. Citizens must register their information to help officials find them quickly if trouble happens.

People living in Iran can call their embassy at specific phone numbers or send emails for help. Kenyans living in Israel have different contact numbers and email addresses to reach their embassy workers. The diaspora affairs office also provided backup phone numbers for emergencies. Officials had already warned Kenyans on June 18 to be very careful and stay safe. The government told citizens to keep important papers ready and avoid traveling around unless absolutely necessary.

A top foreign affairs official asked Israel and Iran to stop fighting after deadly air attacks happened. The official said the violence could spread to other countries and hurt peace around the world. Many people have already left their homes because of the dangerous fighting. Reports show more than 100,000 residents ran away from Tehran after Israel gave evacuation warnings to the area.
