Kenya will host the final match of the African Nations Championship at Kasarani Stadium on August 30, 2025. The Football Kenya Federation president Hussein Mohammed promised fans a world-class tournament experience. The Confederation of African Football made the announcement Thursday and chose Kenya to work with Uganda and Tanzania as co-hosts. Mohammed thanked CAF president Patrice Motsepe for trusting Kenya with such an important event. He also praised the Kenyan government for putting money into sports facilities.
The tournament brings the CHAN competition back to East Africa for the first time since Rwanda hosted it nine years ago. Group A matches will take place at Kasarani Stadium and feature teams from Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, and Zambia. Tanzania will kick off the tournament on August 2 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. Uganda gets to host the third-place playoff match at Mandela Stadium. Zanzibar will also serve as an official venue at Amaan Stadium.
CAF officials praised the joint hosting plan because it helps countries work together and builds better football infrastructure across the region. The competition only allows players who compete in their home country leagues to participate. Tournament organizers will spread group stage games across all four host cities. The entire championship runs from August 2 through August 30 next year.
