Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain emphasized literature's power to deliver cultural and spiritual teachings directly to citizens during an Islamic Book Fair inauguration. The event opened this evening at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque's eastern section to commemorate Eid-e-Miladunnabi. Hossain described books as knowledge centers that illuminate minds and spread positive values throughout communities. Ministry Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik attended as a special guest while Islamic Foundation Director General A. Salam Khan presided over the ceremonies. Egyptian Ambassador Omar Mohie Eldin Ahmed Fahmy delivered remarks alongside Islamic Foundation Secretary Mohammad Ismail Hossain, who provided welcoming statements.

Organizers positioned the exhibition along Baitul Mukarram National Mosque's southern and eastern perimeters for maximum accessibility. The fair operates from today through October 12 with regular hours spanning 11 am until 10 pm on weekdays. Holiday schedules extend morning operations by one hour, while maintaining evening closure times. Visitors can explore literary offerings throughout these designated periods. The celebration honors Prophet Muhammad's birth through educational and cultural programming.
