Five local leaders got suspended for allegedly selling protected grazing land for quick cash. Authorities in Dodoma Region cracked down hard on the Kibaigwa Township Authority after dodgy land deals in the Ndurugumi area seemingly sparked massive drama between farmers and herders. Kongwa District Commissioner Mayeka Simon sidelined Foska Mgovano, Venant Tibandolage, Nicolus Iyanex, Stanley Myoka, and Kedmon Mbaluka pending a ninety-day probe into claims that they fueled encroachment issues.
Mayeka demanded answers regarding missing acreage designated for agriculture versus pastures while ordering pastoralists to vacate unauthorized settlements immediately.
