Kindiki, Ruku rally for Muthende in Mbeere North race

Kenya's Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku have intensified campaign activities supporting UDA candidate Leonard Muthende in the Mbeere North parliamentary contest scheduled for later this month. Kindiki pledged full backing from President William Ruto's administration, while Ruku urged constituents to reject politicians who employ divisive language and instead prioritize service delivery and youth employment.

The race has attracted national attention as Muthende faces DP Party's Newton Karish, who receives support from former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and ex-Attorney General Justin Muturi. Gachagua has committed to remaining in the constituency for extended grassroots mobilization, conducting door-to-door outreach, and expressing confidence that voters will resist vote-buying attempts. Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire joined the UDA campaign effort alongside Kindiki and Ruku.
