Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale toured national government development projects in Garissa County on Monday. The officials examined the New Tana River Bridge, along with its approach roads, and the Garissa Airstrip upgrade, valued at 710 million shillings. The county government contributed 110 million shillings toward the airstrip improvement, designed to enhance transport connections and stimulate commerce across Northern Kenya. Garissa Township MP Major Dekow Barrow accompanied the leaders before they attended an empowerment event for small-scale traders impacted by the Suq Mugdi fire tragedy in July.
