KORAIL resumes train services as heavy rain subsides in South Korea

Korea Railroad Corp. restored railway operations on Saturday after severe weather disruptions forced widespread service interruptions. Emergency repair teams completed safety assessments and conducted test runs before reopening major transportation corridors. The Gyeongbu, Jeolla, Janghang, Seohae, and Chungbuk lines resumed full operations by 10 a.m. following comprehensive facility inspections. Railway officials verified that track conditions met safety standards before allowing passenger trains to return to regular schedules. Several routes continue experiencing service interruptions, particularly segments of the high-speed KTX network on Honam and Gyeongjeon corridors.
