Lambussie Women Flip Script on Local Conflict

Upper West Regional Peace Council hosted women for three days of conflict prevention training. United Nations Development Programme partnered with the council to teach mediation skills across Lambussie District. Denmark and Luxembourg governments funded the workshop through Ghana's Gender Ministry. Thirty women will continue with special mentorship programs after basic training ends. Female participants learned how to spot early warning signs before community fights begin.

Clifford Tampuori stressed how women bring unique perspectives to peace talks. The council leader said female involvement helps solve problems before violence starts. Traditional mediation works better than court decisions according to Rev. George Apasera. Women suffer most during conflicts but possess natural abilities to restore calm situations. Community groups sent representatives from churches and agricultural organizations.

Theodora Williams Anti led workshop sessions about gender roles during peace processes. The foundation director helped women analyze local conflicts through practical examples. Participants practiced mediation techniques that reduce tensions between arguing groups. Training covered specific tools for promoting dialogue among community members. Selected women will engage traditional leaders and security officers for future peacebuilding efforts.
