Linux Audio Conference set for Ireland this June

Open source audio nerds finally have a valid excuse to touch grass because the Linux Audio Conference just locked in its physical venue. Maynooth University in Ireland plays host to this gathering dedicated to free software for music and multimedia. The event serves as the main hub for creators relying on GNU/Linux platforms.

Submissions must roll in soon for anyone wanting stage time. Organizers need papers or workshops addressing literally any topic related to audio processing on open systems. They want technical deep dives or artistic showcases, provided the content focuses on development or user experiences within the community.

Acceptable topics cover the entire spectrum from kernel drivers and sound architecture to live coding battles. Hardware support and interface design also make the list alongside mobile audio projects. Every presentation requires English text, regardless of whether it discusses signal processing or interactive art installations.

Paper and music entries face a hard cutoff in early March. The review team plans to send acceptance notifications out around late April after sifting through the pile. Final camera-ready versions must land in late May before the actual show begins mid-June.
