A vehicle bearing Congolese registration struck her motorcycle, killing an Eagle's Nest primary school student instantly and throwing Namirembe into a drainage channel. The driver fled while bystanders reportedly stole her possessions rather than assisting.
Medical personnel transported her to Old Kampala Hospital before transferring her to Mulago National Referral Hospital, but the delayed emergency response limited treatment options. She died from severe blood loss. The motorcycle operator later traveled to the university to report the incident, prompting classmates to begin searching after she missed her test. They eventually contacted Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and political associate Mumbejja Tinah Walugembe.
