A murder investigation is underway in Kenya over a fatal Christmas Day bar fight. Police in Kirinyaga County are searching for a 40-year-old woman, Edith Muthoni, who allegedly stabbed and killed her 52-year-old lover, Peter Mwangi Wanyeki, at a shopping center in Ndia. Witnesses claim an argument over a 60-shilling bar tab escalated, ending when Muthoni reportedly grabbed a knife used for cooking and stabbed Wanyeki in the chest. He died at the scene.
The victim's family was celebrating Christmas at their rural home when they got the news. His brother, Robert Wanyeki, expressed shock, noting he knew the suspect from a nearby village. Another relative found Wanyeki in a pool of blood and called for justice.
