MACC probes RM180 million Johor data centre tender as suspects burn RM1 million cash

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigates a corruption scandal involving a Johor data centre project valued at RM180 million. Authorities plan to interview twenty witnesses as part of their probe. Twelve individuals have already provided statements to investigators. Three suspects remain under detention while officials released one woman after her custody period expired. No additional arrests have occurred since the initial operation.

During raids at a Petaling Jaya residence, officers discovered a project manager attempting to destroy nearly RM1 million in cash by burning the money. The search revealed an additional RM7.5 million stored throughout the property. Investigators also seized expensive timepieces from Rolex, Omega, and Cartier brands. Various jewelry items and gold coins were recovered during the operation. The arrests targeted a contract manager, his spouse, and two men aged between forty and sixty years.
