Machacha says chigananda means legit capitalist

Zanu PF leader Munyaradzi Machacha recently clarified what Chigananda really means. Vice President Constantino Chiwenga first said this at the National Heroes Acre back in January. Many people thought it meant someone who became rich through shady deals. During a party meeting at Masvingo Polytechnic last Sunday, Machacha gave everyone a completely different meaning—one that made the crowd very happy.

He explained that Chigananda actually describes a proper businessperson or investor. He told the audience it equals the English word bourgeoisie. He described these people as having capital—money, land, or machinery—which lets them make more goods than they need. They sell extra items for profit. The crowd seemed pleased when he described capitalists this way. His explanation changed how party members viewed the term.

Machacha linked everything back to party history. He said the Unity Accord between Zanu and Zapu changed their economic approach. The party moved away from communist ideas toward black economic power. He claimed their policies created space for local business success stories. According to him, famous rich Zimbabweans like Strive Masiyiwa and Kuda Tagwirei came from Zanu PF policies.

He bragged about how party plans created billionaires across Zimbabwe. Machacha even mentioned Wicknell as another success story from their economic approach. He said the party opened doors for wealth creation throughout the country. In the end, he made an interesting claim—that many people fighting against Zanu PF today use money they earned through those same party policies. The statement highlights how they view their economic legacy.
