Mafia - The Old Country Set for August 8, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S-X

2K and Hangar 13 prepare to launch Mafia: The Old Country on August 8, 2025. The crime drama marks the first new entry since Mafia III arrived in 2016. Players can purchase the game for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The standard edition costs $49.99 and the deluxe version sells for $59.99. Pre-orders unlock bonus content for early supporters.

The story takes place around 1900 in Sicily, Italy within the fictional town of San Celeste. Players control Enzo Favara, a young man who escaped sulfur mine labor. Favara seeks to prove himself to the growing Torrisi crime family. He must protect his new allies from rival groups that want to destroy them. Early rumors suggested Don Salieri would star but developers chose a different character.

Hangar 13 partnered with Sicilian studio Stormind to create authentic period details. The team focused on delivering accurate turn-of-the-century atmosphere and locations. Players explore underground crypts, vineyards, ruins and opera houses across the island. Combat features period weapons such as handguns, rifles and shotguns. The game emphasizes tactical fighting due to limited resources.

The developers built a completely linear experience without open world exploration. Players travel between story locations on horseback or in vintage automobiles. Stealth gameplay allows silent takedowns when players move close to enemies. The title runs on Unreal Engine 5 technology instead of previous proprietary engines. Minimum system requirements call for 16GB RAM and an SSD drive.
