Mahama Pulls Plug on NSA Postings After 548M Scam

President John Dramani Mahama shut down the computer system that assigns jobs to national service workers. The Youth Ministry announced Wednesday that officials stopped using the Central Management System because of serious problems. Government leaders want experts to check if criminals damaged the digital platform. The shutdown protects Ghana from more corruption at the National Service Authority.

The system faced heavy criticism after investigators found major theft schemes. Corrupt officials created fake worker names and stole 548 million cedis from government accounts. Former National Service Authority bosses Mustapha While, Osei Assibey Antwi and Gifty Oware-Mensah will face criminal charges soon. Attorney General Dominic Ayine confirmed that prosecutors plan to take all three leaders to court.

Ministry workers promise that service assignments will continue during the computer shutdown. Officials are creating backup methods to place graduates in their required jobs. The government wants to rebuild trust in the national service program after the massive fraud scandal. Leaders say they will announce new security measures for the computer system within days.
