Man torches brother's home after spat

A man burned down his brother's house after a heated fight on Friday afternoon around half past twelve. Gabriel Kugbagbo destroyed everything his older brother Joe owned at their home near Nogokpo Kugbagbokope. The fire wiped out clothes, weaving tools, food, roof materials, and cash worth over one thousand Ghana cedis. Police arrested Gabriel after he admitted to starting the blaze. The incident shocked residents across Ketu South Municipality.

Joe was resting when Gabriel walked up and made scary threats for no clear reason. He thought his younger brother was just joking around since they had not argued recently. Gabriel left and came back with gasoline which he spread around the house. Joe noticed a burning smell and felt heat before realizing flames were eating his home. Everything he worked for during his entire life turned to ash within minutes.

Gabriel ran away after setting the fire but later spoke with the local Assembly Member Jonas Fotor Agbagba. He explained that Joe had called him a wizard and this made him angry enough to burn the house. Joe said he never insulted his brother and could not understand what caused such extreme anger. The Assembly Member contacted police who quickly found and arrested Gabriel. Officers are investigating the case and will likely charge Gabriel with arson and property destruction.
