Manicaland war vets score new homes and boreholes

War veterans across Manicaland Province are seeing real improvements from special government programs. The President created these projects to help former fighters who liberated Zimbabwe. Veterans are receiving new homes and fresh water wells through two major schemes. Buhera district serves as the testing ground for these important community projects. These benefits come after years of waiting for proper support.

Nelson Mahamba works with the War Veterans League and speaks about the meaning behind these programs. He believes the housing and water wells represent what veterans fought to achieve during the liberation war. Many veterans have also received money from special revolving funds that help them start businesses. The new boreholes provide clean drinking water and support farming activities. Mahamba expressed gratitude for what the President has done for former fighters.

Regular community members around Buhera also enjoy the new water sources. Local people used to walk almost two kilometers just to collect water for their families. The fresh boreholes bring safe drinking water much closer to their homes. Entire neighborhoods can access reliable water supplies without traveling far distances. These improvements help both veterans and ordinary citizens living nearby.

Prevail International manages the rollout of these presidential programs across the country. Company officials say they are working quickly to reach veterans throughout all provinces. Some areas have already started receiving new houses similar to those being built in Buhera. The organization promises that every province will eventually benefit from these empowerment projects.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa started these veteran support programs during early June. The schemes include property titles, business funding, and farming equipment for liberation war participants.
