Maryam Nawaz reviews the Punjab model village drive for rural transformation

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif conducted Saturday discussions about Model Village initiatives and waste management programs. Officials presented updates on the ambitious plan targeting 1,200 villages throughout the province. Development teams have finished work on 130 communities during the pilot program phase. The comprehensive village transformation includes round-the-clock water access and complete sewage infrastructure. Solar energy will power both water distribution and waste treatment systems.

Every community receives paved roadways and rehabilitated transportation routes. Children gain access to recreational parks while residents benefit from extensive tree planting efforts. Officials must number all houses and install directional signage for proper identification. Waste management facilities will operate treatment plants within each location. The chief minister demanded specific completion timelines for outstanding construction projects.

Rural communities will experience improved living conditions through these sustainable development efforts. Provincial authorities prioritize community requirements when determining project sequences. Clean and well-maintained village environments represent the government's commitment to enhancing rural life quality across Punjab.
