Maschine 3.4 update adds new tools and features

Native Instruments has released version 3.4 of Maschine, its integrated music production system, adding capabilities that users have frequently requested. The update centers on enhanced modulation functions and arrangement workflows.

The software gains several production tools with this release. A redesigned modulation editor allows producers to create curves using a pencil tool and modify multiple control points simultaneously. Desktop users benefit from grid alignment features, color scheme updates, additional keyboard commands and a refreshed interface design. The standalone Maschine Plus hardware unit can run more effects processors and virtual instruments from the company's Play Series catalog without connecting to a computer. Bounce-in-place functionality helps manage processor usage on the hardware device.

Version 3.4 adds compatibility with instruments such as 24K Keys and Drums, Discoteca Keys and Drums, Empire Breaks, Duets, Feel It and Kontakt Factory Selection 2. Effects processors that work with the update include Replika, Driver and Tape Wobble. Maschine Plus owners need individual licenses for Play Series products and should use fast SD cards when working with sample-based instruments. The update works on Windows 10 or later and macOS 13 or higher in VST3, AU and AAX formats. Current Maschine owners can download the update at no charge.
