Buganda Chief Asks Catholics to Take Lead Roles.
The head of Buganda land, Charles Peter Mayiga, wants Catholics to step up as leaders. He met with church chiefs at Lweza Monastery.
Mayiga said the church needs strong leaders who mean what they say. "Leaders must act with clear minds," he told the group. He asked Catholics to run for seats in law-making houses.
"The church will not grow without firm leaders," Mayiga said. He pointed out that old ways of leading slow down growth. He wants the church to find new paths forward.
"A poor church helps no one," he added. Mayiga wants fresh plans to improve Catholic groups at work and in life.
Father William Nsimbe of Lweza Church joined the talks. Other church heads also came. They talked about how the church and Buganda land help each other.
Father Nsimbe thanked Buganda Land for its help. He shared plans to keep the monastery strong. These plans ask people to give money for new work.
Deo Kizza, who works for fair rules, praised the church head. He said the head made life better for church people.
The church and Buganda land agreed to work together as friends. Both want to improve the lives of their people.
