Mega Food Plant Shaking Up Zimbabwe

President Mnangagwa visited National Foods and praised their new factories that make pasta, cereals, and biscuits. The company spent 13 million dollars building modern plants that use local crops from Zimbabwe farmers. Workers at the pasta factory produce 1,200 tons each month using wheat grown at home. The cereal plant will make 800 tons monthly from local corn. Government leaders want more companies to build similar facilities across the country.

Zimbabwe used to buy most pasta from other nations but the new factory changes that situation. The pasta line uses 1,500 tons of local wheat every month and saves foreign money. National Foods sells products to South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana already. The president challenged the company to reach more African markets. Local production creates jobs and helps farmers sell their crops.

The biscuit factory can make 1,300 tons per month using advanced machines and technology. All three plants support Vision 2030 goals for economic growth and food security. Ministers and business leaders attended the opening ceremony to celebrate the achievement. The president said private companies help Zimbabwe become stronger and more independent. These factories prove the country can make what people need at home.
