This effort aims to bridge the urban-rural development gap by powering homes, schools, clinics, and local businesses. Provincial director Kosheni Mtisi stated the government created an enabling environment for this inclusive growth.
The program covered full installation costs for infrastructure like poles and grid connections up to school premises. Over eight hundred kilometers of power lines were built across the province. Off-grid solutions like solar microgrids were also installed at several clinics and schools to complement the main supply.
More than three hundred primary health facilities were solarized to maintain services during outages. Over fifty biogas digesters were constructed as an alternative sustainable energy source. This electrification push coincided with major education investments, including renovating or building one hundred seventeen schools.
Three hundred thirty new classroom blocks were constructed at various schools across the region. In higher education, Midlands State University established new innovation hubs and research centers. A new law school was commissioned, and five hundred teachers' houses were built across the province.
Youth development saw the reopening of a service center recruiting over five hundred young people. Nearly one hundred thousand youths received vocational and entrepreneurial skills training. About thirty youth focal desks were set up to increase participation in economic activities.
Cultural heritage efforts documented over fifty intangible traditions, including totemic practices. Substance abuse awareness programs reached over forty six thousand people, with identified cases receiving treatment. The combined initiatives represent a broad push for provincial development across multiple sectors.
