Mikhail Boyarsky in hospital after nasty fall

Russian actor Mikhail Boyarsky hurt himself badly after falling during a theater rehearsal in St. Petersburg. The popular performer kept working through pain with help from medicine. He waited two days before seeing doctors, who found serious injuries, including spine fractures and chest trauma. Doctors need to operate on him soon. His recovery might last more than six months away from acting.

The actor's son Sergei plans to take his father home from the hospital next week. His father is upset about missing work because of his injuries. Boyarsky's wife, Larisa, told news outlets that her husband currently feels better than before. She explained that he simply tripped behind the stage and broke a rib. Earlier rumors about heart problems in January proved false when he returned to performances.

Boyarsky celebrated his 75th birthday last December. The famous star, known for his role in The Three Musketeers, entered Mariinsky Hospital for treatment. Despite first trying to continue performances, his condition worsened. Medical experts will perform surgery, followed by an extensive healing time. The beloved artist must pause his career during this difficult period.
