Milan Walks Away from Walker Deal City Scrambles

AC Milan chose not to buy Kyle Walker from Manchester City after his loan spell. The English defender will head back to his parent club when his temporary deal expires. Walker moved to Milan during the winter window and appeared on 14 occasions for the Italian team. He failed to score goals or create assists during his time at the club. Milan bosses decided against making his stay permanent based on these results.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed Milan told Manchester City about their final choice regarding Walker. The defender must return to England but faces an uncertain future there. Manchester City plans to release Walker despite his contract running until summer 2026. Pep Guardiola has removed the player from his squad plans for next season. Several clubs have made offers to sign Walker from his current situation.

Manchester City will compete at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup without Walker. The tournament takes place during the summer months across the United States. City joins Group 7 alongside Juventus from Italy and Wydad Casablanca from Morocco. Al Ain from the United Arab Emirates completes their group for the competition. Walker must find a new team before the tournament begins.
