Myanmar's military leader, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, stopped in Kunming during his return flight from Kazakhstan on Wednesday. Chinese officials from Yunnan Province met the junta chief at the airport for talks on bilateral cooperation and border security.
Senior Communist Party member Hu Dapeng and Foreign Ministry envoy Deng Xijun discussed China-Myanmar relations with Min Aung Hlaing at the terminal. The parties addressed disaster relief assistance, cross-border crime prevention, and economic corridor projects between the neighboring nations.
Both sides agreed to strengthen peace efforts along their shared frontier and expand trade ties with Yunnan Province. The delegation then departed for Myanmar after the brief diplomatic exchange.
