Emelia Arthur is a very important person. She's the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, which means she helps care for all the fish and farms in Ghana. On Monday, she visited a special place called R & B Farms in Gomoa Nsuem in the Gomoa Central District.
Emelia wanted to see how the farm works. She was very happy with what she saw. The farm is doing a great job making yummy and healthy fish for people to eat. It's also giving many people jobs, which helps them earn money to buy food and take care of their families.
"R & B Farms is a big and serious farm," Emelia said. "They are working hard to feed everyone in Ghana with nutritious fish. They are also making the community better by giving people work. This farm is actually the biggest one of its kind in the whole country! The government is going to help them keep doing their important job."
Emelia explained that the government and her ministry were already friends with R & B Farms. She said she would talk to President John Dramani Mahama about strengthening their friendship. This way, the farm can help even more people live happy and healthy lives.
The minister also told everyone that she had been to other fish farms in different parts of Ghana. She went to the Volta Region, the Oti Region, and the Western Region. She wanted to see how the government could help these farms grow bigger and give more people jobs. Emelia said that R & B Farms is extra special because Ghanaians completely own it. She promised that the government would do everything possible to help the farm make more food and make life better for people, not just in Gomoa Central but in all of Ghana.
Mr. Ben Turkson, who is in charge of running R & B Farms, welcomed Emelia. He told her that the farm started just five years ago. Its main goal is to make people healthier by giving them good fish to eat. The farm also wants to help more than 10 million young people from all over Ghana find jobs.
The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central is named Kwame Asare Obeng. He was very excited about the great work R & B Farms was doing. He said it was the biggest farm of its kind in Ghana. He also said it could give lots of jobs to young people in his area.
"I want everyone in Gomoa Central to know that we will create more jobs for you," Kwame promised. This will make life easier for you. I want to say a big thank you to Emelia Arthur for coming to visit us today. I hope that her team will continue to help R & B Farms do all the good things they want to do."
