MK party ousts treasurer, reshuffles caucus leadership

A political party just overhauled its top ranks in a sudden shakeup. The MK party ousted Mpiyakhe Limba from the treasurer general position, thanking him for his service but showing him the door. Stepping into that financial role is Brian Molefe, a guy they say knows his way around complex money systems and governance. Over in their parliamentary group, Colleen Makhubele got booted from her chief whip job, though she keeps her seat as a lawmaker.

Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi will temporarily handle the chief whip duties, working with the speaker's office and managing internal caucus rules. In a reversal, Vanessa Calvert is back in the game, with her suspension lifted and her chief of staff role reinstated immediately. Party spokespeople framed all this as strengthening their structure and enforcing discipline. They claim the moves are about tightening up their organization and pushing their political goals forward. These leadership swaps signal the party's push to solidify its footing in parliament and expand its influence nationwide.
