Mnangagwa Hands Farmers Trucks and Solar Kits

President Mnangagwa gave vehicles and equipment to farm advisors at State House yesterday. The country needs better support for agriculture workers to improve food production. Zimbabwe depends on farming for economic growth and job creation. The president wants qualified people to operate new equipment properly. Farm advisors help farmers learn better growing methods across the country.

Government officials say they owed almost four million dollars for truck rentals from last season. The new vehicles will help district leaders watch farm programs more closely. Officers can visit farmers faster and check crop progress regularly. Many extension workers never received official vehicles during their careers. One officer with 35 years of service said this was his first government vehicle.

The Agricultural and Rural Development Authority expects to save 34 percent on transportation costs. Trucks will carry seeds and fertilizer to farms and bring crops back to markets. The equipment will reduce pressure on government budgets and speed up deliveries. Officials plan to rent out trucks during slow periods to make extra money. The president gave one retiring officer a vehicle as part of his farewell package.
