Mnangagwa sends ex spy boss Isaac Moyo to UAE

Zimbabwe's government selected former spy agency chief Isaac Moyo for the ambassador position to the United Arab Emirates. Chief Secretary Martin Rushwaya made the announcement through an official government publication on Wednesday. Moyo concluded his tenure as Central Intelligence Organisation director-general in 2024. The former intelligence leader will take over diplomatic duties from Lovemore Mazemo. Moyo brings extensive foreign service experience from previous postings in South Africa and Lesotho.

The same government document revealed additional diplomatic changes across multiple nations. Patrick Ronald Mutasa received an assignment to represent Zimbabwe in Cuba. Mazemo will transfer to South Africa, where he assumes the role previously held by David Douglas Hamadziripi. Hamadziripi moves to Washington to serve as the country's representative to the United States. These appointments reflect the administration's broader effort to restructure its international diplomatic presence.
