Mnangagwa splashes cash and prizes to rally Zimbabwe women for Zanu PF power play

President Mnangagwa addressed delegates at the ZANU PF Women's League National Assembly meeting in Harare yesterday. He promised government backing for women's empowerment through practical initiatives including solar-powered incubators, chicks, and sewing machines. The gathering focused on breaking barriers while building futures toward Vision 2030 goals. Mnangagwa stressed that empowering women strengthens families, develops communities, and grows the economy. He called for united efforts between all leagues and government to eliminate poverty and inequality.

The president announced a competition among provinces to boost women's participation in the party. Top-performing provinces will receive prizes including a vehicle for first place, ten thousand dollars for second, and five thousand for third. Other provinces get five hundred dollars each as incentives. Mnangagwa praised the Women's League for conducting successful co-options since their last national assembly. He emphasized that internal democratic processes create no winners or losers since ZANU PF remains the ultimate victor.

Government appointments showcase increased women's representation in leadership roles. Mnangagwa highlighted Defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri and Senate President Mabel Chinomona as examples of women in decision-making positions. He challenged the Women's League to use these positions strategically for all women's benefit. The president committed to dismantling barriers like gender-based violence and child marriages. He announced ZiG400 million monthly disbursements for the Basic Education Assistance Module to clear outstanding payments for beneficiaries.
