Mnangagwa storms Harare Heroes Acre to canonize energy guru Dr Gata

President Mnangagwa challenged Zimbabwe to produce fresh heroes during the burial of energy boss Dr Sydney Gata yesterday. The head of state called for trailblazers and inventors who will transform the nation and Africa. He urged citizens to follow the example of patriots like Dr Gata who dedicated their lives to building the country. The President spoke at National Heroes Acre where thousands gathered to honor the electricity guru. Government bigwigs and ordinary people packed the venue to pay their respects.

Mnangagwa told mourners that Zimbabwe was rising toward upper middle class status by 2030. He pushed young people to study science and technology while never forgetting their African roots. The President praised Dr Gata for staying humble despite his engineering brilliance and international success. He said the energy expert understood that the country belongs to its people and must be built by them. Dr Gata helped create ZESA and brought power to remote villages across Zimbabwe.

The late hero was born in Chipinge during colonial rule when his three brothers died fighting for independence. Dr Gata studied engineering in Canada and Britain before returning home to serve his motherland. He became the first black boss of the electricity commission and built major power stations. The President said Dr Gata represented the kind of patriot Zimbabwe needs as it pushes toward industrialization and self reliance.
