The head of state called for trailblazers and inventors who will transform the nation and Africa. He urged citizens to follow the example of patriots like Dr Gata who dedicated their lives to building the country. The President spoke at National Heroes Acre where thousands gathered to honor the electricity guru. Government bigwigs and ordinary people packed the venue to pay their respects.

Dr Gata studied engineering in Canada and Britain before returning home to serve his motherland. He became the first black boss of the electricity commission and built major power stations.
