Authorities discovered the remains of a missing political organizer buried behind a residence in Rangpur's Kaunia upazila Friday night. Mobarak Ali, who served as convener for the Tepamadhupur union branch of Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal, disappeared Thursday evening following evening prayers. Police Chief Abdul Latif Shah confirmed officers extracted the cloth-wrapped body from soil near Mominul Islam's property at 11 p.m. Ali's relatives had reported his absence to authorities after he failed to return home.
Residents located Ali's cellular device in a rice field adjacent to the burial site. Community members noticed disturbed earth in a nearby banana plantation and began digging. Officers transported the remains to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for examination. Investigators have arrested Nazrul Islam regarding the death.
