Modi throws Rs 62,000 crore at ITI students for votes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated youth development programs valued at 62,000 crore rupees on Saturday, and Industrial Training Institute graduates praised government investments in vocational education. Modi launched PM-SETU, a federally sponsored initiative allocating 60,000 crore rupees to modernize 1,000 government training facilities through a hub-and-spoke framework. The program designates 200 institutes as central hubs, while 800 function as satellite locations.

Modi recognized 46 national ITI graduates at the fourth National Skill Convocation ceremony organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in New Delhi. Recipients from multiple states described the recognition as transformative for their families and communities. Students from Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh credited the funding with expanding equipment access and employment opportunities for rural populations and economically disadvantaged learners.
