Modi transfers Rs 20,500 crore, saving crops in Pathankot

Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed the twentieth payment under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi on Saturday. The government transferred approximately twenty thousand five hundred crore rupees to bank accounts of ninety-seven million eligible farmers. Agricultural workers across the nation received direct financial support through this installment. The program continues providing monetary assistance to help farming communities meet their agricultural requirements. Financial aid reaches beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer system.

Pathankot farmers expressed satisfaction after receiving two thousand rupees each through the scheme. Preeto Singh Battu noted the assistance benefits small-scale agricultural operators significantly. The funds enable timely purchase of fertilizers and support irrigation activities on farmland. Premchand emphasized how the program strengthens farmer finances and ensures proper crop care. Multiple beneficiaries acknowledged the government support for agricultural development.

The central government launched this initiative during February 2019 to address land-holding farmers' financial needs. Each participant receives six thousand rupees annually through three equal payments. Banks process these transfers using Aadhaar-linked accounts for verified recipients. The program supplements income for millions of farming families nationwide. Direct payments eliminate intermediaries and ensure funds reach intended beneficiaries efficiently.
