MTN Uganda salutes Dr Ofwono for lifting women up

MTN Uganda praised Dr. Babra Ofwono during their Women's Month events. They recognized her work as founder and CEO of Victorious Education Services for helping women grow as leaders, especially in education. Ibrahim Senyonga from MTN visited the school on Namirembe Road on Thursday. He thanked Dr. Ofwono for her efforts in creating opportunities for young women and changing education.

Dr. Ofwono accepted this honor and discussed why mentoring matters for women leaders. She explained that many companies want board members who already serve as CEOs, but few women hold CEO jobs. She believes the leadership gap will continue unless people actively support women. When someone helps one woman succeed, that success spreads throughout entire communities. The MTN recognition inspires others to find their purpose.

Dr. Ofwono shared how she started teaching because she loved it, not as a business plan. After traditional schools rejected her, she built her company in the private sector, where she saw a chance to make changes. Her school began in 1999 and has grown to five physical locations plus one online campus, serving more than 5,000 students. She hires recent graduates because she believes they need opportunities to gain experience.

She stated that companies should hire new graduates despite their lack of experience. At Victorious, they train young people and help them become skilled workers. MTN Uganda promised they would keep working toward gender equality. They plan to partner with leaders like Dr. Ofwono, who break down barriers for women in business and leadership positions. Their recognition celebrates female leaders who drive important social changes.
