Muhoozi orders arrest of top intelligence officers

Uganda's top military commander Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba told his intelligence chief to lock up several high-ranking officers at their Mbuya headquarters. Defense sources say this represents a huge cleanup operation targeting soldiers suspected of working against the army. The general gave direct orders to Maj Gen Richard Otto to hold these officers during their investigation. Military insiders call this a serious crackdown that could spread to more people. Nobody knows exactly which officers got arrested or how many face detention.

A secret military report apparently showed some personnel doing things that hurt military order and country safety. Officials refuse to name the arrested officers or say what crimes they committed. Some experts think the investigation might focus on sharing classified secrets without permission or making unauthorized business deals. Others believe the probe targets organized rebellion against military leadership. The army has stayed silent about these dramatic arrests.

Gen. Muhoozi has arrested military officers before when they broke rules or stole money. He gained a reputation for punishing soldiers who abuse their positions or damage important government programs. The Mbuya intelligence center handles extremely sensitive military information and spy operations. Any security breach at this location threatens national defense. Military leaders treat problems at this base as major emergencies that need immediate action.
